Gearing Recruitment Solutions are looking for an experienced Civil Site Manager with a strong background in clean water projects and civils delivery to support three Affinity Water sites. This is an initial 3-month contract with a very strong opportunity for extension due to a growing programme of clean water works.

You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations across multiple live water sites, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of civil engineering activities, maintaining programme control, and upholding high standards of HSQE compliance.

Typical Civil Works on These Clean Water Sites Include:

  • Installation and refurbishment of clean water mains

  • Chamber construction, kiosk bases, concrete slabs and plinths

  • Valve replacement, pipework supports, and connection works

  • Minor structural civils, fencing, and access improvements

  • Safe dig activities, trial holes, and locating services

  • Temporary works, shoring, and enabling works

  • Above- and below-ground clean water infrastructure works

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, supervise, and mentor civils teams across all three clean water sites.

  • Oversee civil works activities ensuring full compliance with Affinity Water standards.

  • Ensure all operations are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with CDM requirements.

  • Maintain strict HSQE performance and carry out daily/weekly site checks.

  • Coordinate and control typical civil engineering works (safe digs, chambers, pipework, concrete).

  • Produce clear and accurate as-built records for project H&S files.

  • Develop and update project programmes for multiple water sites.

  • Review and brief RAMS, ensuring supply chain compliance.

  • Promote cost-effective management of resources across all civils activities.

Requirements

  • SMSTS

  • First Aid at Work

  • Confined Space Supervisor

  • EUSR National Water Hygiene(clean water essential)

  • EUSR 1 & 2 Locate & Safe Digging

  • Fire Marshal

  • TWC – Temporary Works Coordinator

  • CSCS Site Manager level

  • IOSH / Construction Manager Safety cert (desirable)

  • Strong background in water & civils (clean water projects essential)

  • Experience managing multiple water sites advantageous
