Job Title: Senior Estimator (Civils)

About the Opportunity
We’re working with a Tier 1 contractor bidding on a£1bn national water framework, covering both infrastructure and non-infrastructure works on water treatment schemes in the South East.
As Senior Estimator, you’ll be pricing complex civil engineering projects, including:
Water and wastewater treatment upgrades
New process plant installations
Civils asset refurbishment and pumping station upgrades
Emergency reactive works following storm events
This is a long-term framework with a secure pipeline, giving you the chance to price a wide variety of schemes with real environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead pricing for both infrastructure and non-infrastructure water sector projects
Prepare first-principles estimates from tender documents, drawings, and specs
Coordinate with design, planning, and engineering teams to develop construction methodology and programme logic
Build and maintain pricing databases and benchmark costs for civils, whilst having an understanding of MEICA scopes
Engage the supply chain for specialist material and subcontractor input
Support tender strategy, risk reviews, and final submission preparation
Produce detailed handover documentation for delivery teams
Experience & Requirements:
Strong estimating background in water, marine or civil engineering – ideally with an understanding of working with MEICA or M&E multi discipline team
Experience with NEC-based tenders and major frameworks
Comfortable pricing both traditional civils (earthworks, structures) and non-infra packages (treatment plant, M&E systems)
Proficiency in estimating software and digital take-off platforms
Good commercial awareness and communication skills across pre-construction disciplines
HNC/Degree in civil engineering or related field preferred
